Former Lister Yarns/Mutual Mills worker awarded over £5,000 compensation
Noise induced hearing loss sufferer, Mr T , wins settlement of £5,162.65 through WE Solicitors.
Mr. T worked for Lister & Co limited/Mutual Mills Limited from the age of 15, from 1956 until 2006 when he retired. Mr. T worked at the company premises on Aspinall Road, Heywood.
Mr. T was exposed to excessive noise from the Spinning machines, carding machines, drawer frames; spend frames and open-ended spinning machines amongst other sources.
As a result of Mr. T’s exposure to the excessive noise at work he has suffered noise induced hearing loss and tinnitus, this was confirmed when WE Solicitors arranged a medical assessment of his hearing condition.
Mr. T approached WE Solicitors about a noise induced hearing loss claim after WE solicitors had successfully settled his son’s case against the same company. WE Solicitors sent medical evidence and the letter starting the legal process to the insurers of Lister & Co Ltd/Mutual Mills Limited in December 2011 and the case was settled in February 2012.
WE Solicitors were able to negotiate an out of court settlement of £5,162.65 for Mr. T avoiding the need for the service of court proceedings.
Both Mr. T and WE Solicitors are very pleased with the outcome.
