Mrs E wins £2,500 payout
Mrs E wins £2,500 payout after working as a Production Operative at Midland Metal Spinning (also called Tower House Wares) from 1965-1977. This company was based on the Swansea Industrial Estate, Swansea. Mrs E lost some of her hearing due to exposure to loud noise.
This was a particularly difficult case as Mrs E also suffered from hearing loss that was not related to exposure to loud noise. It is important to identify at an early stage whether hearing loss is caused by exposure to loud noise whilst at work or not. Mrs E was unsure of the cause of her hearing loss until she underwent one of our free hearing tests where our expert audiologist was able to identify that she had sensor-neural hearing loss we solicitors then sent Mrs Evans to see a Consultant ENT Surgeon who was able to attribute the hearing loss to Mrs E work and calculate how much of her hearing loss was caused by work as it only that loss that will be compensated.
As we solicitors only uses the top experts with a proven track record you can be sure of a good result.
This case was further complicated by the company having closed down a number of years ago, as then the company’s insurers would be responsible for paying the compensation. Initially our specialise searches did not provide us with details of insurers however we extended our searches and were able to discover that the company had changed its name to TI Dowty Ltd before is closed down and from thereon we were able to find the insurers.
