Noise Induced Hearing Loss
Claims Process
Having realised that you may have a potential hearing problem and contacted us most straightforward claims will be dealt with in a series of stages. Most straightforward cases can take between 18 months to 2 years to complete successfully.
Stage 1
A face to face meeting with one of our solicitors. The same solicitor will see the case through from start to finish.
We will obtain further evidence of your working past and exposure to noise
We will ask you to sign some forms allowing us to act on your behalf.
We will request various documents to support your case.
We will arrange for you to have a free hearing test
We will obtain a witness statement from you and any former colleagues
Stage 2
We will arrange for you to be seen by a consultant surgeon who will provide a written report confirming you have noise damage
We will write to your former employer(s) or their insurer(s) advising them of the claim
The insurers have three months in which to respond but this can take longer.
Stage 3
We attempt to settle your claim without the need for court action. Court proceedings maybe necessary in a small amount of claims.
